BIG FURNACES

These furnaces are designed to replace regular MC furnaces. MC furnace recipe is disabled by default.

Big furnaces have 4 slots for input and output. and 1 fuel slot. The heater block holds fuel, hotter fuels burn higher temperatures. use of bellows can increase this more(just like forges). The heater is independent to the furnace, so it will burn fuel even if there's nothing to smelt! so you need to do some resource management (What? you thought it would be easy?)

Big furnaces can smelt anything (ores, misc, blocks) However is too hot to smelt food. cooking food will burn it into charcoal. Putting rotten flesh in will do the same. Use ovens and spits to cook food.

CONSTRUCTION
A single big furnace costs 44 metal (bronze, iron, steel and mithril). You need to make 1 heater block, 1 furnace, 4 oreblocks and atleast 3 stone blocks(with a certain hardness)

Start off by building the base: place a heater block on the ground. on the sides and back; place stone blocks (See below on what stone blocks can be used). Ontop of that: place the furnace block. and on the sides, back and top: place oreblocks. (bronze for bronze, iron for iron, steel for steel, mithril for mithril)

REQUIRED STONE BLOCKS FOR BASE

Bronze can use any block
Iron requires hardness of 2+ (like slate)
Steel requires harness of 5+ (like granite)
Mithril requires hardness of 10+ (the only thing higher is obsidian at 50)

Furnaces can be aligned side to side. meaning you can place as many furnaces adjacent to eachother, and throw only 2 walls either side.

To use bellows, point them at the side wall facing the furnace. the bellows power through the wall and to the heaters
